The Eagles open their 2015 football season Saturday against the Black Bears of Maine. Game time is 10 am PT and San Diego Eagles will gather at The Beer Company, 602 Broadway, to cheer on BC.
We’ll be back at the loft. Look for the BC banner!
About 50 BC alumni, family, and friends — ranging from those graduating in the 1950s to a member of the class entering this fall — attended the chapter’s annual Mass and reception today.
Celebrating the Mass in St. Therese Chapel at Cathedral Catholic High School was Peter Gyves, SJ, ’73, ’94, ’08, associate pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the only Jesuit parish in San Diego.
A reception followed on the school grounds. Here’s a gallery of photos from both the Mass and reception.
San Diego Eagles, as their part in BC’s Global Days of Service, spent several hours Saturday helping to beautify a section of the grounds at Our Lady’s School, affiliated with Our Lady of Guadalupe, San Diego’s only Jesuit parish. The church and school are located in Barrio Logan, a heavily Hispanic and low-income neighborhood of San Diego.

The crew removed weeds from alongside one of the buildings, constructed plant beds, and hauled soil to fill the beds.
Several of the volunteers enjoyed Mexican seafood cuisine at a post-work lunch at a nearby restaurant.
